Birthday Cake Cook-Off

This is a FUN cook-off for the novice or expert. This is a great way to practice your recipes before the Brazoria County Fair or the upcoming holidays. Your participation and your donation (the cake) are greatly appreciated.

There are 3 categories:

	Youth (17 and under): This is for our youngest bakers.
	Mama's Kitchen: This is for those cakes our Mom's made us just because it was our birthday (i.e. chocolate, white, strawberry, pineapple upside down).
	Cake Artist: This is for those cakes that have a little something extra in the way of icing designs.

RULES:

Each cake may be entered into only one (1) category.

All cakes are to be delivered to the judging station inside the gym at the Angleton Recreation Center by 10:30 a.m. on September 23.

Each cake will by assigned an identifying number for judging.

There will be a panel of 3 judges.

The judges will score each cake on the following categories:

Flavor (30 points)

Appearance (25 points)

Moistness & Crumb (20 points)

Consistency (15 points)

Topping/Icing (10 points)

The winner of each category will receive a trophy and have his/her cake auctioned off in the live auction.

Each participant will receive a participatory award. His/Her cake will then be sliced and served at the event.
